“The Sea Calls Us Home” is a tribute to my love of folklore and of the ocean. The selkie is draped in pearls, fishing nets and wire, and wraps her sealskin around her as she swims along the shores. To me, the selkie is the embodiment of fragility and strength. Too often in tales she is captured but in the end she is always free. In her I see the essence of the ocean; wild, untamed, and strong, yet gentle and lovely all at once.
